Take control of your very own TARDIS. The 32cm tall scaled TARDIS Speaker is a highly detailed replica that brings amazing quality sound to any home, office or living space.

The British comics community came together to help raise funds for disaster victims of New Zealand and Japan’s earthquakes and tsunami with a stunning new graphic novel anthology, Spirit of Hope.

Comic Book Alliance Chair Tim Pilcher, said, ‘When the earthquake hit Japan on the afternoon of 11 March 2011 the CBA, like the rest of the world, was stunned. Overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of the disaster we felt impotent to do anything. But standing idly by was simply not an option. So we did what comics people do best, we put a call out to the artistic community and asked for a strip, pin-up or anything that encapsulated that devastating situation for them.’

Over 85 writers, artists, colourists, letterers and editors from across the globe all donated their time and work free of charge, to produce a powerful statement, all within an incredible two and a half weeks after the Japanese tsunami hit. Consequently, the stories have a raw emotiveness and impact that can only come from such immediacy.

Forbidden Planet brought down the barriers of Space Time to host a special Doctor Who signing with authors Naomi Alderman, George Mann and Jonathan Morris at the FP Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR on Saturday 25 June 2011.

In Alderman’s Borrowed Time, Time is the business of Mr Symington and Mr Blenkinsop. They’ll lend you some – at a very reasonable rate of interest. Detecting a problem, the Doctor, Amy and Rory go undercover – but they have to move fast to stop Symington and Blenkinsop before they cash in their investments.

In Mann’s Paradox Lost, it’s London 2789 – and the remains of an ancient android are dredged from the Thames. When reactivated it has a warning that can only be delivered to a man named ‘the Doctor’. The Making of Pink Floyd: The Wall is the authorized, definitive book and includes new commentaries from members of Pink Floyd: Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason, together with the director of the film, Sir Alan Parker. Roger Waters has written the fore-word. The album imagery, stage performances and film were created in close collaboration with Gerald Scarfe, and his massive archive includes original story boards, animation cells, concept drawings, models and other three dimensional material together with photographs of the creation and staging of the live performances and the filming of The Wall.

Gerald Scarfe has been the political cartoonist for the London Sunday Times for 43 years and has worked for The New Yorker magazine for nearly two decades. For many years he was involved with Pink Floyd in providing animated footage for their stage performances as well as jacket artwork for record covers and CDs.

Former rock singer Hollis Henry has lost a lot of money in the crash, which means she can't turn down the offer of a job from Hubertus Bigend, sinister Belgian proprietor of mysterious ad agency Blue Ant. Milgrim is working for Bigend too. Bigend admires the ex-addict's linguistic skills and street knowledge so much that he's even paid for his costly rehab. So together Hollis and Milgrim are at the front line of Bigend's attempts to get a slice of the military budget, and they gradually realize he has some very dangerous competitors. Which is not a great thought when you don't much trust your boss either.

William Gibson first novel Neuromancer sold more than six million copies worldwide. In an earlier short story, Gibson had coined the phrase 'cyberspace', and he developed the concept in the novel, creating an iconography for the Information Age long before widespread use of the Internet. Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive completed his first trilogy. He has since written six further novels, moving gradually away from science fiction and futuristic work, instead writing about the strange contemporary world we inhabit. His most recent novels are Pattern Recognition and Spook Country, both available in Penguin. He was born in South Carolina but has lived in Vancouver, Canada for many years.

On Saturday 28 November, Bryan Talbot visited Forbidden Planet, 59 Grainer Street, Newcastle, NE1 5JE to sign copues of his astounding graphic novel, Grandville
In Grandville, Talbot brings us a glorious steampunk masterpiece. Inspired by the work of the nineteenth-century French illustrator Gerard, it tells the story of detective Inspector LeBrock of Scotland Yard as he stalks a gang of murderers through the heart of Belle Epoque Paris. In this alternative reality, France is the major world power and its capital is thronged with steam-driven hansom cabs, automatons and flying machines. The characters are mostly animals, though there is an underclass of humans who resemble the 'clear-line' characters of Herge's Tintin books. Grandville is an audacious rollercoaster ride that will add to Talbot's reputation as one of the best graphic novelists in the world.

Listing the accomplishments of Bryan Talbot is a daunting task – arguably the creator of the first British graphic novel, ‘The Adventures of Luther Arkwright’, the credits to his name are too numerous to mention. He started in the underground comics scene of the late 1960s and his work has spanned the flagship series of 2000AD as well as Batman, Sandman, Hellblazer amd Fables. The Observer described his last graphic novel, Alice in Sunderland, as ‘…one of the most exhilarating books in years’.

In a record-breaking event in 1980, the late, great Douglas Adams did a legendary signing at Forbidden Planet on Denmark Street, London – a signing that took up half-a-dozen pages in his biography.
It was a very special moment for us to welcome Eoin Colfer, to sign the sixth book in the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy And Another Thing at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Wednesday 14th October 2009.
Adams himself said that the Hitchhiker’s series deserved a sixth book to end the story on an upbeat note; Eoin Colfer, best known for his wonderful Artemis Fowl series, is a true follower of Adams’ legacy with his views of the absurdities of life, the universe and everything.

Carl, The Cat That Makes Peanut Butter Sandwiches is a full-colour, one-shot book starring a lcat who makes the greatest peanut butter sandwiches in the world! On Thursday 16th April 2009 we put on our mirrored sunglasses and practiced our Sharpshooters in order to welcome wrestling legend Bret 'The Hit Man' Hart to the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR where he met fans and signed copies of Hitman: My Life In The Cartoon World of Wrestling.

In Hitman, one of pro wrestling's biggest stars tells it like it was, with a human and very touching amount of detail. He relates the story of how a family-friendly, locally oriented sport run by curmudgeonly promoters was steamrollered by Hulk Hogan - fueled WWF marketing machine.
